Specific issues, like ratings, are best not taken up in a huge group, like a forum, as you will get 100 different opinions. If there is a B of D and maybe a select committee of knowledgeable, informed people, they are more likely to come up with an informed, educated, and practical decision. And if the decision is made by people who are respected by the group and elected by the group, it is more likely to be accepted with less resistance. I do not believe you can make good decisions by large groups of opinionated people where those who talk the most and make the most noise get heard the most. This is just one more reason an association is needed to study and make these kinds of decisions on behalf of the players. Do I have to add, IMHO every time I give MHO in order not to be considered argumentative and opinionated? Then I add IMHO.
