"ROFL..neither chess, no bridge, or (OMG I will say it) BG belong in the Olympics. "

While all kinds of arguments can be made for calling Chess, BG, etc. "sports" - the intense competition, the energy requirements, the need for practice, preparation, conditioning, etc. the Olympics in my opinion must always be restricted to sports that require one to get off your butt and move.

However, that opinion aside, if forced to make a choice, I will approve of Backgammon's entry into the Olympics before that of Competitive Eating - even though that has beaten BG onto ESPN.
