Why not a North American Federation?

In Response To: A Proposal to Start the US Backgammon Federation (Martin Veltmann)

Why just have the USA? Include Canada with the US and call it the North American Federation. Maybe Mexico would be included too, but I am very unfamiliar with bg in Mexico.
