TG to redouble but not TG for an initial double?

Is it possible for a board position to be too good if I own the cube, but not too good if the cube is in the center? Since almost all my experience is money play with Jacoby, this never comes up, but offhand I don't see why it couldn't happen in match play.

Speaking of the Jacoby rule, by the way, is there any evidence that it shortens the average length of a money game significantly?
