What I meant was that this position is structurally better for Blue than the OP because of the increased flexibility. Even though Blue will likely be playing many of his rolls with his checker on the 23 point, at least it's more flexible than having a halfway-dead checker on the 6 point. Since Blue has 3 checkers in the outfield instead of only one or two, he'll get much better containment if White hops the prime in the next few rolls. So there is logic in trying to recirculate the checker on the 6 point. Of course, the downside in trying to recirculate the checker is that 1) it takes time and 2) it's also a weird angle to go for when Blue's main goal is to complete a six prime. I don't think it's the right play in this position, and I'd be surprised if it was. But recirculating the checker is a positive gain for Blue.
