Kudos to Linda Rockwell and Staff

Peoria was, as always, a great event. Linda, Mary Ann, Dru and Sue once more did a fabulous job. The local players are really friendly and nice, from Ed Z. on down, and I include Faddoul even though he always defeats me. The auction continues to be the best on tour.

Details:

Clocks: Clocks were in use in many if not most matches. That was great! But if I were the director I would go ahead and require clocks for all Championship matches--there still were some slow patches right from the beginning. I had to wait at least 1.5 hours thrice.

Progressive Last Chance: Maybe the ship has sailed on this--I know many players like the progressive last chance beginning right away on Saturday afternoon. But I prefer playing that event on Sunday. Progressive LC may be the right way to go, but my feeling is that if I win two or three matches and then lose a couple, I would rather start playing again on Sunday. I think the LC was wrapped up around 2:00 (and it was only that late because MCG was playing the Masters final); I wouldn't mind scheduling it so that it ends around 5:00.
