Blue is in extremely good shape to win a priming battle here. Why would you split?

In particular you can get attacked not only on this roll but on the roll after and the roll after that. After you split what is your game plan? To get a holding game where you are behind in the race? Slotting plays to the assets of your position and minimizes its defects.

Not sure how to explain this or what the primary/secondary reasons are...it seems clear to me.
