1. Make sure you have some talent (but backgammon aint rocket science so talent isnt crucial imo) 2. Play several hours a day for real money 3. Analyze some of your games with gnu 4. Read this forum from time to time as well as a couple of good books

If you follow this recipe i guarantee you will become a strong player and your only limitations is how far are you willing to go to improve.
