It will be tough for any organizer to come close to what Chiva gave us in Enghien.
50,000 euros added, making for huge plus equity. A registration fee of 125 Euros( 100% prize pool return) which included the closing Dinner. That dinner with a band, 2 singers, all the champagne you can drink, and a first class buffet, would, it seems to me, cost at least that putting together a party of this scope in the hotel where it was held. The Casino really came through with more than I have experienced in a long, long time.
The dinner also gave the players a set time to socialize that is missing in many tournaments.
The staff was highly professional.
Chiva had scheduling problems because he had one day less from the hotels than he wanted. But he convinced several players to play their rounds late and these guys were smiling at the dinner where he announed their sacrifices for the sake of the rest of the field One guy played a match a 4 am and finished at 6 am only to play again at 11am. Chiva truly is a magician to get these people to come out of such an experience without complaining.
