Thanks, Neil, for sharing the long strong XG rollout result of 41$-11.
The money data that I have or know about for 41$-11 so far is:
Bot Margin #Trials Moves, Cube Notes Snowie 22.0 31k 3-ply, 3-ply Snowie 21.2 41k 3-ply, 3-ply Cube-adj. (Janowski) GNU 22.3 11k 4-ply, 4-ply Roller: Neil Kaz GNU -3.5 46k 3-ply, 3-ply At bgonline site XG 9.8 36k 3-ply, 4-ply Roller: Neil Kaz XG 10.0 62k 3-ply, 3-ply Roller: Ken Bame All results are with a live cube except in the second Snowie row (as noted). The number in the margin column is the number of thousandths by which Hitting (24/20*) beats Near (8/7(2) 6/5(2); e.g., "22.0" means that Hitting beats Near by .022, and "-3.5" means that Hitting loses to Near by .0035.
In my table, "Gnu 3-ply" is really Gnu 2-ply, but it is the same depth that the other bots call 3-ply. The depth-of ply is underlined as a reminder. [If this proves to be an unpopular convention, in future tables I'll revert to the traditional (inconsistent) way to list Gnu ply.]
In the first of the two Gnu rows, was your rollout really 3-ply, 3-ply (what I'm calling 4-ply, 4-ply)? I'm going only by vague recall, as I seem unable to find your post in the bgonline archives. Both XG margins are text-reported to three decimal places as 10 (i.e., .010), but these are rounded. Your equities are .146 and .137 (hence my shaving from 10 to a guessed 9.8 margin) and Ken's are .150 and .140 (hence no better guess than 10).
[I also jotted down a while back an XG rollout result with rounded equities of .144 and .136 (yielding a margin of .007) after 28,944 trials. I don’t remember the source, so I can’t verify the strength of the settings.]
