A solution to one tournament problem

However, as tournaments move towards more computer usage, I could imagine scoring being done with a computer (with a projector showing the bracket on the wall). Then a printer could automatically print out two scoresheets as soon as both players for that match are determined. They could even be sorted into 26 bins (by first letter of player's last name, like is done at the pharmacy) so they can easily be found by the combatants.
This may not be doable today, but maybe soon.
That's doable. Easy. Run the tournament via a computer (I use Excel,) as players are entered in the next round their names carry through to a two scoresheets which are printed off when both players are known. Match lenght is carried through from the tournament chart. Table numbers can be included, the logo of the event can be included, where the loser will go can be included, what time the next matches are can be included as well.
Likewise, as Chuck suggests, a list of players in alphabetical order with their assigned table number next to them is great for the start of play every day. Players will still ask who they are playing; my stock answer is "Go to your assigned table, yours and your opponents named scoresheets are on that table and that's where I'll want you if your opponent is late and you'll be claiming penalty points. Thank you."
It's all just data transfer to locations where the players will find with ease.
