Maybe he thinks he will have the psychological advantage? But he should keep in mind that Snowie, GNU and even X all have more experience.

Seriously, Matt's error rate will be in the 4+ range to beat the bot. How could it be otherwise, since to win he has to take the bot out of the type of positions its training covered, and into territory it hasn't explored because nobody normally goes there. The superbackgame is the primary example of this, but there may be others too.
