Ok, this is a shameless plug for an event in Europe next weekend… shameless because it has shaped up to be a tip-top event in its 1st year of being.
It’s in a ski resort called Meribel in the French Alps. Snow has been falling these last few days and the forecast is good. The hotel and resort are quite beautiful.
There will be no registration or rake fees. This has been achieved through the sponsorship of The Meribel Tourist Office, 9 of the local businesses, Axa Insurance, Snowie and Play65.
The weekend will feature “The Highest Little Tournament In The World” at 2739 metres, a free Warm-up Tournament, a seminar by the current World Champion Mochy, a Masters and a Mid Flight, a Doubles and Gang Tournament as well as various Satellites, Jackpots and Blitzes.
The Masters Flight will be a clock play event, the Mid Flight is a both players preferred clock event. Tournament boards and Excalibur clocks are provided.
Meribel is about 2 hours drive from Geneva airport. Some players have already booked a hire car at the airport and are looking for others to share with them. You'll be welcome to join us.
For those of you unable to attend we intent to publish photos and the tournament charts of the weekend on a daily basis and we hope to film the Mochy Seminar for later publication on You Tube.
