Supremo MET in the Real World

My understanding is that Kit's MET was based on real world results from the '90s, and that a key difference between Kit's MET and the bot generated METs is less gammons over the board.
Now that bot theory has filtered into tournament play over the last decade, has anyone verified whether there is still is a major difference in the number of gammons over the board vs. bots? Possibly enough of a difference to make it useful to update or regenerate Kit's MET from live results over the last couple of years?
I'm wondering which MET is more applicable to use in the real world.
