I also hate it when I hit my opponent and they pick up their checker...how do I know they will put it on the bar?

I immediately admonish my opponents the first and every time they do this with the simple: "Please do not touch any of the checkers when it is MY turn."

This is an odd bit of chouette 'etiquette' that has developed over time that is just lame, though people probably think it is being 'nice'. I hate it in any kind of game. Even when it is forced (only one checker can be hit), it is wrong.
