This is one of those situations that if you're playing an inexperienced opp, you don't want to spend time counting the shots. If you don't have it memorized, or have some nice rule of thumb, shoot from the hip. {1,2,5} or {1,3,6}? Usually sixes have extra combos so go with {1,2,5} and pick up your dice. (Of course you don't want to do this too hurriedly else you might tip off opp for that reason, too. Make a Goldilocks motion.)

Having time to contemplate, it looks like 1,2,5 doesn't have any hardway hits but 1,3,6 adds 2-2 and 4-2 for a total of 29.

If it were simply 27 hits for a simple loss and 9 misses for a simple win then the take would appear easy. However, here getting hit can mean getting gammoned. Noting that this is a score where doubled gammons are particularly painful, I think we're going to have a tough time trying to take (but that's tomorrow's decision).

So far I haven't mentioned to blot in our board. If opp picks up two checkers then slotting the 2-point is likely right (IMO), as getting sent back (with one opp still on the rail) gives XG a chance to pick up the third checker, making the G-win even more likely than closing out just 2. Still I don't see giving opp an extra three shots for that kind of (likely unneeded) insurance.

18/13, 18/17. I guess I get a full day to (re)consider the cube.
