Hi Tom,
No matter if your rollouts were conducted in the "Dark Ages"; your effort was superb and it still stands up as the most complete archive of openings and replies publically available on the web. The careful way you laid out and organised the material plus the consistency of your methodology have created a valuable resource still worthy of study.
More than why the more recent rollouts differ, I'm interested in which rolls have been reconsidered by stronger versions of GNU. This should give us insight into the types of rolls that cause long, complicated or volatile games, and conversely the types of rolls resulting in games that even weaker opponents have little trouble understanding.
Matt.
