More prime time

In Response To: More prime time (christian munk-christensen)

In a priming battle, when one has the outer prime, generally one should use the strength of potential timing rather than duke it out in the inner board, even at DMP. I like anchoring and keeping the six-prime (24/23 5/2) a lot and I don't see anything else particularly attractive (perhaps 10/7 5/4* or 5/4*/1).

After 24/23 5/2, maybe White won't cover her 8pt and Blue will roll an immediate 6, and if not then Blue can probably hold five of his six points for a couple of rolls, long enough to put the onus on White to escape or crack her prime. And once White has lost the sixth point of her prime, that opens up additional ways for Blue to win.

I've learned to ignore "nobody found the right play." Sometimes that means that everyone thought something clever must be called for and nobody bothered to suggest the obvious one.

For the bonus question, I would rather be White than Blue but with QF I'll hedge and say that I probably picked the wrong side.
