Hand-recording matches

I basically make sure I get the roll, and then do whatever. Usually I just use the nactation symbol if I can think of it within a second or so, otherwise I just use normal notation (i.e., the destination points only).

I use superscripts to indicate that multiple checkers get moved to the same point. So a roll of 33 played 8/5(2) 6/3(2) would be noted 33 52 32. I underline a hitting play. So in your example, 64 played without a hit (24/14) would just be 14, but with a hit (24/18*/14) would be 14.

I do the same, except I use * or x for a hit.

I don't use phi for a failed entry but I do use Ø or just -.

It is really not that hard. If you know how backgammon notation works you can figure it out on the fly. If you have a hard time discerning whether that big triangular thing on the board is the 11 point or the 14 point you might have trouble.
