Hand-recording matches

Suppose you mark down the time at the beginning of each game (or midway through a game?). Should recording the time remaining be grounds for disqualification?

Sometimes I see an opponent doing this on their scoresheets. I always figured they did it just out of curiosity, and I never really cared.

If push came to shove, and I had to rule on it, I would rule that the person should not record the times, and their opponent should stop asking for rulings on such mundane stuff and play backgammon.
