It was a shame that McCoy's shoulder was injured by a completely legal and normal hit that is part of the game.

However, Edwards really didn't look very good until the 2nd half and that was very costly. Also costly were a couple of passes from Edwards that really should've been caught and that bobbled shovel pass that was intercepted and run back for a TD near the end of the half was brutal.

Near the end of the game, and one that Texas' defence played well during much of the 2nd half to stifle 'Bama's running, it is a shame that Edwards wasn't better protected from the blindside hit that caused the fumble essentially ending the game.

The fact that Edwards really didn't seem ready to step in is of great concern. One wonders how much playing time he got during the regular season and I suspect he too often sat on the bench in the 4th quarter when Texas was blowing out routine opps by 30 points. Correct me if I am wrong about the backup QB's playing time.
