Well I managed to enjoy the game, despite knowing the winner. I don't feel there should be any asterisk. It's a shame that Texas lost their QB so early - and it sounds like he was their 3rd one this year - but there was nothing wrong with the hit that did it.

And Texas just failed to execute at crucial times; giving up a penalty on 1st and goal at the 1 in Q1, receivers missed catches, that mis-handled shovel pass intercepted for a TD, and giving the LB a free run at the QBs blindside on the play which was fumbled at 21-24. In my opinion, the better side on the day won.

But tell me: didn't Texas also make a big mistake on the very first drive? On the fake punt, the safety intercepted the pass and was downed where he caught the ball. If he'd simply batted it down, wouldn't Texas have taken over at the line of scrimmage?
