You can't set up an independent 'standard' number of places for awarding ABT points that is different than the actual places being paid, because the places being paid determines who advances to the following rounds.

Either way it would be 'broken'. If the standard is 4 ABT places in the consol and only 2 get paid, you'd have a situation where a player gets ABT points for 3rd consol and might win the ABT points for 1st LC as well. Or if the standard is 2 ABT places in the consol and 4 get paid, then 3rd consol gets no ABT points and can't compete for ABT points in the LC.
