Coming out (22/18 22/16) seems the least of evils to me. There are big regrets when Opp rolls 65 55 44 33, with a side order of 63 66, but the loss from coming out is outweighed by loss of losing the 8pt and 6pt spares, and the loss of outfield control from 17/7 seems greater still.

If Blue had his 1pt instead of the 3pt, the potential value of priming would be lessened, and the "any point in a storm" principle would be stronger. In that altered position, it might be right to settle for making the 2pt.

In case it isn't obvious what I think of the situation, if Black were given the option of passing his turn instead of moving a 64, he should take it.
