Woolsey is the Contest Winner

On Sunday I gave a checker play quiz--10 positions, multiple-choice. 3 min max on each problem. (We also discussed the plays for the edification of the audience and I had a lot of good help from people like Ray and Petko and Kit.)

Kit Woolsey once again proved his backgammon skills and had the high score.

Several other WC players who could not make the early-morning event tried their luck with the quiz later, and a couple might have won had they competed, but it's not fair to compare the scores where their is no competition pressure, but Joe Russell and O'Hagan certainly proved they know the game well.

I think everyone agreed it was a fun competition but also educational for players of all levels. We also gave a prize to the non-open player with the top score, and that was won by Peggy Neubig.

I will present the same contest in Pittsburgh, but it will be all doubling cube problems.
