"In my opinion, I think the appropriate action would be for Rod to temporarily resign his position while the matter is resolved. In the absence of such, I think it would be prudent of the Board of Directors to suspend him from the position until the matter is resolved.
I think it does not serve the best interests of Rod nor of the USBGF for him to remain in the position in the interim. I'm sure his interests and attention will be, justifiably, required elsewhere and the USBGF, in its fledgling state, will not be well served by a President and Chairman so distracted. I'm confident a well-crafted statement to this effect would imply no concession by Rod nor any judgement by the USBGF.
Be it days, weeks, or months, I think this the best path. Should Rod be cleared of any suspicion and not charged in the case (which is my hope), we should welcome him back with open arms. I'm confident his then uncluttered and relieved mind would then once again well serve the USBGF". - Bill Riles
How is this not a rush to judgement? You are advocating resignation or suspension. Where in the context of the world are these positive actions for anyone? You are asking someone to either step down or stripped of their position, yet this is objective? You are making no call here? (yes, I do notice the sidebar in the parenthesis) Really? Bill, I do like you in spite of all our differences (I'm right, you're wrong), but you can't say these actions that you suggest are in Rod's best interest. You are right that I think Rod is innocent, but even if he wasn't, I would think that the president gets the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise (like that guy from Crawford was)
