As I've said from the beginning, I didn't post the original article because it felt like trash reporting. Many of you knew the reputation of the Post, I did not. I read it and it just smelled of refried shit to me so I decided to ignore it, regardless of whatever bit of truth was in it ... the Bible has historical fact in it and we all know what I think that work smells like.
The idea of Rod stepping down temporarily isn't without merit but I am heartily against. As I've told anyone who has brought it up or asked me about it I feel Rod is more or less on house arrest, his every move being watched. He can't jiggle it more than 3 times without someone asking why so he is constricted to his house, to living what I see as a dull life because he's under the microscope. To me, it seems like he doesn't need to focus his attention elsewhere, all he has is free time and he needs something to devote it to. This issue will resolve itself and there's probably not much he can do about it. He needs something to keep him busy, he needs somewhere to focus his energy, and he's been doing a fine job in redirecting that towards the USBGF. Having him step down for what I see is no reason whatsoever not only hurts him but also hurts the USBGF. I don't believe this will have any negative impact on backgammon or the USBGF assuming that he will be completely exonerated of all charges.
