Just to be clear, I don't know Bill apart from his postings here, and I do not doubt his good intentions and his motivations at all. If I gave a different impression, then I apologize. I believe we start from the same premises, but come to a different conclusion.

Maybe I am reacting a bit strongly due to another case in the recent past, of a Dutch draughts player who was charged with murder and put in jail for a month or so before being released (he was completely innocent). I have tried to imagine what it would be to be in his place, and concluded that any sense of doubt or distrust by friends would make things even more terrible.

In any case, let's hope that this will be over quickly, and that Rod's name is cleared as completely as possible.
