I don't think the racing lead means much here with the two back checkers, both needing a 6 or 51 to escape. It is going to be difficult to clear these without leaving a blot and all black needs is a 6 to get the lone back checker moving so the race lead is likely to evaporate in a hurry. White needs to keep black busy in order to get those back checkers out. 9/6 2/1* is risky, but is likely the best way to win. Even getting hit is not fatal as white will still have some chances to pick up a blot.
