A few have said how it gives an advantage not making mistakes in the first two moves. I think the bigger advantage though comes from what it tells about "real backgammon" in that essentially it gives several hundred reference positions speaking to things such as what is more important of two conflicting choices and how much of a change a GG or GS score make.
