The location of Blue's anchor matters here, I think. With a five-point anchor, Blue is in much better shape than if he had a deeper anchor, where escaping the back checkers would be difficult. In particular I do not think Blue is desperate enough to leave a double shot in the face of a five-point board. It's true that Blue does need to hit a shot and it's possible that he won't get another chance, but the chances of a later shot aren't all that bad.

After the hit I would definitely cube as White and I'm not sure about the take. 16 dancing rolls is probably enough for a take, though I think it's close because even if White dances Blue doesn't have a complete lock on the game yet.

If I don't hit then I think I play 6/3. 20/17 doesn't seem worth the double shot it leaves. After 6/3 I think Blue has a definite take and I don't think I would cube as White. Enough things can still go wrong that I would wait a roll.
