Thanks both of you, Jake and Phil, for the correct Bobby. I've heard of Greg somewhere, but not Anderson. I came late to backgammon (certain giant youngsters I'm not even thinking of!) I played casually with a friend in 1978 at a bar in Spain, and recall losing a drink's worth of pesetas once there to a traveling Spanish hustler. I think he showed me a book. I don't remember if it was Becker or Magriel. But I never played again after that until '87 or '88, and was totally unaware then of the mid-70's mid-80's craze.
