Would you play this like GNU?

I think the back checker needs to step up in order to try to escape. So it seems like the main choice is between 23/22 9/7 and 23/21 9/8. The bold slotting play is of course great when it works, and we do outboard our opponent. It might be right but it seems to leave us rather vulnerable to attack. I prefer the pedestrian 23/21 9/8.
