Let me try to reason myself into take: If I pass I'll be down 8a/1a Crawford. I'll have to win 5 games in a row, about a 3% chance. Since that ignores gammons,

If I pass I'll be down 8a/1a Crawford. I'll have to win 4 games in a row including 1 gammon, about a 6.25% chance.

Having slightly underestimated my 8a/1a Cr match equity (since I sometimes win two gammons, or one backgammon), then

either I seriously overestimate my chances against this snake (which are under 6%), or I figure it's close and for some reason I'd rather put it on the line now than try to win 4-5 games in a row against this opponent.
