To reinforce our understanding, try this: Change the position by one pip, (giving Opp 9/8), as shown in the second position. Now 24/18 drops from first place into third place (from right by .04 to wrong by .04 or so). It is better to run into the quadruple shot than into the triple shot, for reasons of deflection stated in my previous post.
