I haven't read all the posts in this thread yet, but if I correctly understand your question:

The reason that you play 54S-55A (attack) at DMP in spite of Opp having no diversified builder is that your midpoint is closer to the 5pt blot than it is to a blot on a lower point (e.g., the 2pt blot, which you don't attack but rather play 51S-55P). There are more combinations to hit and/or cover from the midpoint; the blitz is therefore more likely to succeed.

By the same token, A is relatively better with 32S-55 than with 21S-55, and it is better with 43Z-55 than with 41S-55. Those blot comparisons are merely 23pt vs 21pt, so you should expect at least as large a contrast when you're dealing with 23pt vs 20pt (as indeed you are with 51S-55 versus 54S-55).
