Error Rates and Edges - - What is "average error"

What is average error....could be determined by

a) Average error rate of every match you analyze.

b) Throw out your bottom 50% and then average error rate on your top 50% every match or last 100/200 matches (pick a number). This is similar to golf handicaps that are best 10 of your last 20 rounds.

c) Throw out top and bottom X %, then average.

d) etc...

thoughts?

My preference is c) average of your middle 50%, throw out top 25% and bottom 25%.
