Tandem backgammon -

Some months ago I proposed Tandem Backgammon, a four-player variant of backgammon on a principle similar to Bughouse Chess. Now I have just browsed the content of Danny Kleinman's "Vision laughs at counting" and seen an item named "Tandem Backgammon" in the "Rules and variations" chapter IX of volume 2.

I'll order the book since it was on my wish list anyway, but for now, can anybody tell me whether the game in Kleinman's book was more or less the same as mine, or something completely different ?
