Discretionary Cash Landscape

I noticed the Chicago update stating (seemingly) low attendance at an ABT event in a major city.

The World Series of Poker started this weekend.

The first open event, the $1,000 NLHE, attracted 6,012 entrants in 2009 in the first weekend slot. This year, that donkament, er, tournament, had 4,345 attendance, a reduction of .277.

The second event, $1500 Omaha 8, an event for rational players with an expectation to win something, had 920 entrants in 2009. This year, 818, a reduction of .11.
