and by the way, you will also see less hedging because it won't be necessary

I generally agree with the smoothing out of payouts, but this last bit just isn't true. There's some innate need for people to hedge no matter what the payouts are, and I find the discussions of hedging to be *bleah* which is why I instituted my strict no hedge policy. Smoothing out the payouts would probably be a good thing for somebody like me.
