World Cup -- OT - England VS USA

So the USA has to play England, Algeria and Slovenia in their Group C matches. Can Algeria or Slovenia have any kind of decent team? I assume a 2-1 record would get you to the next round.

The matches are on 06/12, 06/18 and 06/23. It's pretty hard to keep the excitement up if you are just rooting for the USA with that kind of schedule. Especially when they are a big favorite to lose against England/British Isles/United Kingdom. Would Scotland and Wales be eligible to field a team? Why isn't it the UK team?
