What I am interested in is the increased value gained by doubling CLOSER to the TP than just at 51% like 2a/2a against Snowie.
I don't think there's any benefit to doubling close to the TP rather than right away. If you assume that your opponent will double before losing their market (if they start to lead), then it doesn't matter. There are only two possible outcomes:
- You eventually win.
- You eventually lose.
Whether you double early or late, if you eventually win you will win 2 pts. And if your opponent eventually wins, they will win 2 pts (given the previous assumption).
