5/0 4/1 which will end shot chances on 21 of his rolls from the bar and give him 3 hit and cover nmbers instead of 5. If hit I see an efficient cube coming anyways. If blue had a few more checkers off the extra checker off would be a more important consideration. 5/0 4/1 does waste a crossover in the gammon race but on the other hand it does give opponent 1 more pip, does not waste any pips, and the possible ending of shot chances could allow a faster bearoff (for example slotting empty ace point with an ace).
