1980's BG program for the Apple ][

Back in the 1980's I remember playing a backgammon program on the Apple ][ computer. The main thing I remember about it was that if you won, a duck would roll across the screen to the tune of "Stars and Stripes Forever" (Be kind to your fine feathered friends...). At the time, I knew nothing about backgammon strategy so I couldn't evaluate its strength. Now I'm curious as to who wrote that program and what kind of algorithm it was using. Does anyone here know anything more about that program?
