A few quick words on the nactation of 4-2 13/7 as 42d would be useful for that rather time-consuming post I am preparing :)
D is two checkers down, or one checker down when two can't come down (e.g., 13/7 = 51D). If you bring one checker down when two down is also legal, you use the lower-case letter. So, in your position, 42D is 13/11 13/9, and 42d is 13/7.
If you prefer, use "7" (i.e., 427) for the 13/7 play, though you have to take a little extra care how you format certain situations. For example, lets say that R rolls out best, and 7 is -.005. The nacbrac of [R 75] could be confusing (did he forget to write the letter of the play for this -.075 blunder?), whereas [R d5] would look normal. In the case where a numeral play is a single digit error, I clarify with a hyphen: [R 7-5]. You won't encounter such formatting quirks often, but if you do and need help just give me a holler.
I find it also helps to put numerals (even lower-case letters) in quotes when writing about them, especially if they're smaller than 7. For example, I rolled 43, played "6" and he rolled 64 coming out with his 6 and down with his 4. If you don't put the 6 in quotes, it can seem like one number on the dice. Even if you say you played 7, it might sound like an ER or something. The quotation marks give the "7" play more texture. (Note that adding the word play helped too.) OTOH, you can write 427 in a move string and there's no problem.
