Question about XG versions etc

I recently bought a netbook, and would like to put XG on there, now I understand about the extra $25 for the activation, and I am OK with that. However, I hear about version 2 being in the works, and dont want to pay my extra $25 now, only to have to pay an upgrade fee shortly after to move my main desktop and the toy laptop up to v2.

So, my questions are: When is XG v2 coming out? What will the upgrade cost be?
