Crowd-Funding Backgammon Filming – The London Open

Dear all,
As some of you know my company Mind Engagement Media has been filming at some notable backgammon events – most recently the Nordic Open and Denmark Vs the World. Some examples of the footage can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/user/NordicOpen#p/a
We have lost money on every backgammon event that we have filmed. We do it because we want to promote backgammon.
Backgammon will only really flourish with decent TV coverage. To this end, Mind Engagement Media will be producing footage of the London Open – part of the World Backgammon Tour. Unfortunately there is no money in the kitty to pay for any footage.
So we thought we might try Crowd-Funding: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowd_funding
We will be asking players at the London Open to make an entirely voluntary contribution of GBP 10 to help pay for the footage. Filming three days at the London Open (enough to produce about 30 minutes of high quality footage) will cost GBP 1,800. If everyone in the Masters flight agrees to chip in GBP 10 then that will raise GBP 640.
So we are going to be a lot short even if everyone there helps.
This is where you come in. We are asking people in the wider backgammon community to put in some money to help fund the filming. If it works for the London Open then we hope to take it further afield (ABT, Europe etc.) To break even we need another 116 people to put in GBP10.

We are also interested in hearing what people would like to see in short backgammon film/s. We have done a lot of interviews but feel that we might have done this to death (where do you go from interviewing Carter in a childrens' play house http://www.youtube.com/user/NordicOpen#p/u/5/I6eMKBbGjBA and getting Stick and Matt to arm-wrestle http://www.youtube.com/user/NordicOpen#p/a/u/2/H_7KTqEiYRg)? More position commentary? More post-match analysis? More tournament updates? All ideas gratefully received. Please remember that we have 1 camera and enough time to produce about 30 minutes of film so a 2 hour epic with 17 different camera shots, while hugely desirable, is not going to be feasible on our budget. We are most interested in ideas that will retain their interest for viewers long after the event has finished.
