XG Rollout Question

When one does an XG rollout, there are these three choices: checker play, double action and take action.

If I choose double action, I believe it also tells me if it is a take. If I choose take action, does it also tell me if it is a double?

What is the difference between these two? Why not just always tell us if it is a double, a redouble and a take? Why not always give us the equities for all three positions of the cube?
