XG Luck Factor Question

After some recent conversations and responses to my post from a few weeks ago about SHG I am back to working on data from SHG. It seems that at least some people think that the "luck" factor on SHG is too high, so I am trying to find a way to test that hypothesis. But more on that later.

My question for now is that given that XG's luck rating is a zero sum, i.e. my positive luck is my opponents negative luck, would it be expected that over a significantly large sample of matches that the sum of the XG luck factor should be close to 0?

This seems logical to me if one accepts that with random dice (or "random enough" dice) that over a large number of matches the luck factor should even out. Am I on the right track with that, or am I missing something in my thinking?
