Florida Final

I won't steal any of John's or Gregg's thunder by telling much about the analysis but it was a great match, to watch and to study -- well played on both sides of the table.

Most interesting to me is the great illustration of the pressure, volatility, significance, etc. of early cubes late in an ABT final match. The match was clocked but time never really became an issue with either. Each had on the order of ten minutes remaining at conclusion.

Gregg led 12-6/15 after 12 games. Then there was, generally, an extended series of very short, quick games.

Game 13: 4 checker plays total, D/P; O'Hagan wins; Gregg leads 12-7

Game 14: long game; O'Hagan wins single game after his D/T; Gregg leads 12-9

Game 15: 8 checker plays total, D/P; O'Hagan wins; Gregg leads 12-10

Game 16: 15 checker plays total, D/P; Cattanach wins; Gregg leads 13-10

Game 17: 8 checker plays total, D/P; O'Hagan wins; Gregg leads 13-11

Game 18: 8 checker plays total, D/P; O'Hagan wins; Gregg leads 13-12

Game 19: 8 checker plays total, D/P; O'Hagan wins; tied 13-13

Game 20: long DMP game

Hopefully, John and Gregg will make it available to all.
